When it comes to Back Pain Treatment, chiropractors such as Dr. Holcombe of Jefferson Spine and Injury Center, are exceptionally qualified to treat your ailments.
Chiropractors use spinal adjustments to aid in the relief of pain and soreness in the back.
Chiropractic care focuses on your musculoskeletal system and the proper alignment of the spine.Dr. Holcombe will perform safe and natural adjustments on you to properly re-align your spinal column.
This will ultimately take the pressure off of your discs and nerves, which assist your body in functioning properly.
In addition to chiropractic treatments, you can supplement your personalized care plan by working on your posture and proper sleeping positions to help keep your back in alignment.
Chiropractic Adjustments: Manual manipulation by Dr. Holcombe help relieve back pain by taking unwanted pressure off the sensitive neurological tissue.
Chiropractic adjustments also help in the following ways:
Myofascial Release Therapy: this treatment utilizes gentle, kneading manipulation that softly stretches, softens, lengthens, and realigns fascia. After careful observation of one's posture, the doctor feels for stressed areas of the body.
When restricted areas are found, he gently stretches tissues found along the direction of the muscle fibers. This stretch is held for a couple of minutes until a softening or release is felt.
These stretches are repeated until the tension is felt no more. A myofascial release session may last up to an hour and can be administered one to three times per week depending on a patient's condition.
Massage Therapy: is a hands-on manipulation of the soft tissue and joints of the body. The soft tissues include muscle, skin, tendons, and associated fascia, ligaments, and joint capsules.
The manipulation can physically stretch muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia, encourage the circulation through the tissue, inhibit muscular spasms, and be either sedating or stimulating to the nervous system.
This affects all the systems of the body - in particular, the muscular, circulatory, lymphatic (immune), and nervous systems.
Dr Holcombe is a first class chiropractor. She cured me of my excruciating back pain after my auto accident in November, 2013. I was referred by a friend who had had a positive experience at the Jefferson Spine and Injury Center. I was not disappointed. The doctors on the staff are very professional and friendly. My favorite days were the appointments with the resident massage therapist. The guy was so good he always put me to sleep and snoring by the end of the session. In all, I had a wonderful two months experience while I was under the care of Dr Holcombe. I will recommend the Jefferson Spine and Injury Center to anyone who is in need of a chiropractor after an auto accident.
I called Dr. Holcombe because I'm having lower back pain due to an accident that I had. I'm not from this area nor will I be here long term, but she did not mind that at all. She was very attentive and showed high concern for getting to the root of the issue. She got me in same day, had x-rays done, and proceeded from there. She is a generous, caring doctor and I highly recommend her to anyone with spine or neck issues!
Dr. Holcombe is EXCELLENT! If you ever have back pain for whatever reason, car accident or etc., I highly recommend her. The customer service that she and her staff provides has not been matched for me. I was in a car accident in mid July 2013, (major rear end) and I was referred to a rehab therapist in DC. I just was not feeling any relief from the pain after a few weeks. I happen to be in Costco and a gentleman could actually see the pain in my face and referred me to Dr. Holcombe's office which was a Blessing.
